Coded Bias was a very interesting documentary to me because it brought up things I had no idea about. I definitely would have expected facial recognition technology to be a little more accurate. I also think that implications of this technology could possibly lead to many problems in the future, especially regarding personal freedoms and liberties. I don’t think that facial recognition technology should be allowed in some places, and the people in England from the documentary would certainly agree. Where does the line get drawn? It seems unjust, and if the technology recognizes people incorrectly, it could lead to even more problems. Joy Buolamwini did a stellar job of explaining the technology and various problems within the technology which gave the documentary a strong lead. This documentary had a really great mix of people who each added a lot of knowledge to the film and it was definitely visually pleasing as well. Coded Bias is a great documentary that I would recommend to others.
